Prof Joseph D. Seffah has been a medical practitioner since 1982 after graduating from the University of Ghana Medical School and went on to specialize in Obstetrics/Gynecology in 1994.
He continued to work at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital in Accra, and has been a member of the faculty of the University of Ghana Medical School since 1997. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the University of Ghana Medical School and has been involved in clinical practice, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, and conducting research.
Prof. Seffah, is a researcher with profound interest in women’s health. He has over 40 peer reviewed journal papers to his credit and has also co-authored one handbook in Gynecology and contributed several book chapters. He is also the Editor in Chief of the Postgraduate Journal of Ghana, and a frequent reviewer of some international journals such as the International J. of Gynecology and Obstetrics and the Ghana Medical Journal.
Prof Seffah has held many positions of honor including Vice Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Deputy Provost of College of Health Sciences.
He is currently the Chairman and Chief Examiner of the Faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the West African College of Surgeons.
The good professor also has great interest in community healthcare.
